Is this you?
If a trip to the supermarket fills you with dread, or deciding what to have for dinner has you in a tailspin, you’re in the right place.
You can’t quite put your finger on it, but it’s there:
- Bloating and digestive trouble
- Fatigue, even after a good night’s sleep
- Brain fog
- Skin flare-ups
- Headaches or migraines
- Unexplained weight gain or loss
- Poor sleep
Most people who come to us have already tried cutting things out. Bread for a fortnight, then dairy, then wondering if it’s neither. The clues are usually there. They just need connecting.

Why Can’t I Lose Weight?
In the pursuit of weight loss, we often focus mostly on calorie counting, and the latest dietary trends. However, recent research shows a compelling link between our dietary choices, food intolerances, and the intricate world of our gut microbiome.

Common Questions
What is a food intolerance test?
A food intolerance test gives you a more focused place to start when exploring whether certain foods may be contributing to your symptoms.
It isn’t a medical diagnosis or an allergy test. Its purpose is to narrow things down, so you’re not left guessing your way through the whole cupboard.
How much does a food intolerance test cost?
- Gold test, 270 foods, £195
- Junior test, 130 foods, £145
- Inverness clinic appointment, £95
Every option includes the TESTme Handbook and support from Iona if you need it.
What’s the difference between a food allergy and a food intolerance?
A food allergy involves the immune system and can cause a rapid, potentially serious reaction, although some allergic reactions can be delayed.
Food intolerance symptoms are usually less immediate and don’t cause anaphylaxis. Our food intolerance tests don’t diagnose allergies. If you’ve experienced swelling, breathing difficulties or another sudden reaction after eating, please speak to your GP.
Are food intolerance tests available on the NHS?
No. Your GP can investigate food allergies, coeliac disease, and other possible causes for your symptoms. If you suspect you have a full blown allergy or inflammatory bowel disease, then your GP is the right place to start.
How do I know which food intolerance test to choose?
Choose the Gold test if you want our widest panel of 270 foods. It’s suitable from age two and uses a small finger-prick blood sample.
The Junior test is designed for children aged 2 to 17 and covers 130 common foods. Choose the clinic test if you’d prefer a face-to-face appointment, don’t want a finger prick or would like your results during the appointment.
If you’re unsure, get in touch and I’ll help you choose.
Where is TESTme based?
The TESTme clinic is on Stephens Brae in Inverness, with clients travelling from across the Highlands and Islands.
Our at-home food intolerance test kits can be delivered anywhere in the UK.
